Dissolution

Dissolution A method of terminating a marriage when the parties are in agreement as to all of the terms of the divorce, one spouse files a Petition for Dissolution with the Court. One can either file in the county they have resided in for the past 90 days or if the couple so chooses they can file in any county in the state of Ohio so long as one of the parties has resided in the state of Ohio for the past 6 months. This establishes the residency requirement in the state. Upon filing a Petition for Dissolution, the parties ask the Court to adopt the terms of the agreement, dissolve the marriage and make their agreement an order of the Court.
